Valentine’s Day often brings with it a whirlwind of hearts, chocolates, and romantic gestures. While it’s a time to celebrate love in all its forms, let’s not forget that one of the most important relationships we can nurture is the one we have with ourselves.
As a pharmacist and the proud owner of Finesse Skin Clinic, I want to encourage everyone—whether you’re single, in a relationship, or somewhere in between—to embrace self-love and invest in becoming your best version—inside and out.
My journey to self love

Like many of you, I’ve faced my own set of insecurities. For me, it’s my asymmetry. I sometimes feel lopsided, which is why I often prefer side profiles in photos or hide behind a funny face. It may sound silly, but that’s my reality. We all have our imperfections, and recognising this is part of the journey.
As a young mother, I was told I had large pores, which made me self-conscious. Now, as I age, I’m noticing the natural loss of volume in my face and the beginnings of a scraggly neck. But instead of succumbing to these feelings, I’ve decided to use my knowledge to become the best version of myself—not to change who I am, but to enhance my natural beauty.
Love your skin
I believe in the power of self-care and the importance of investing in my skin. That’s why I developed My Signature Package, a six- or twelve-month plan where you begin with tailored skincare products, followed by natural, holistic treatments like chemical peels and micro-needling to rejuvenate the skin. I also offer Dermal fillers and Botulinum Toxin injections for those who wish to restore volume and smooth out fine lines.
Understanding skin health has taught me how crucial it is to exfoliate and incorporate products like L-Ascorbic acid and Retinol to stimulate collagen production and increase skin cell turnover. Protection is key—what you do now to shield your skin from harmful UVA rays will determine its appearance in ten or twenty years.
In addition to treatments, I prioritise daily collagen supplements, hydration, nutrition, sleep, and mindful alcohol consumption. These practices contribute to my overall skin health and help me feel more confident in my own skin.
Celebrate You
This Valentine’s Day, I invite everyone to take time for self-care—whether you indulge in a spa day, enjoy your favourite hobbies, or simply embrace your own company. Self-love is a vital journey for all of us, regardless of relationship status. If you’re ready to elevate your skincare game and boost your confidence, I’m here to guide you.
Recommended Reading

To further support your journey of self-love and acceptance, I highly recommend “The Saint, The Surfer, and The CEO” by Robin Sharma. This inspiring book follows a young man named Jack, who embarks on a life-changing journey after facing a personal crisis. Throughout the story, he learns valuable lessons from three mentors—each representing different aspects of life: spirituality, adventure, and success.
This book encourages readers to look inward and reflect on their values, ultimately guiding them toward a more fulfilling life. By embracing the principles of self-discovery and inner peace, you will find it easier to love yourself and accept life as it comes. It’s a wonderful read for anyone looking to enhance their self-worth and cultivate a positive mindset.
