Traditionally, dermal fillers have predominantly been used to fill in deep lines and wrinkles, improving the appearance of the skin and reducing the signs of ageing.
There is now a growing trend, however, towards using different dermal filler procedures to reshape the face, with the goal of creating a desirable contoured appearance with a natural aesthetic harmony. This is termed facial contouring.
The areas commonly treated for facial contouring are:
Not every person will need all three areas done and the amount for filler needed can vary completely but typically upwards of 2mls is required for facial contouring.
Why choose Finesse for your Facial Contouring?
At Finesse, you will receive an in depth consultation ahead of your Facial Contouring treatment. We do not take this responsibility lightly. The consultation includes a facial assessment and your skin concerns and expectations will be discussed. Your full medical history will be taken including any allergies, potential contraindications and any previous cosmetic treatments you have had. We will determine your suitability for treatment and we will discuss with you the potential side effects of the therapy and how to minimise these. Where in your best interests, a treatment is refused, the reasons why will be explained.
We recommend you take a minimum of 24 hours to consider all the pros and cons before making a decision to book a treatment. Why not look at this link to help you to decide: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/cosmetic-procedures/dermal-fillers/

Finesse Skin Clinic only uses the safest, most effective FDA-approved, naturally biodegradable dermal fillers. These are made from Hylauronic Acid (HA) which closely mimics the HA found naturally in the body. HA volumises, softens and hydrates the skin. It also aids collagen and elastin organisation underneath the skin which gives the skin a more youthful texture. Fillers are injected just beneath the surface of the skin and are one of the most popular treatments for filling and smoothing fine lines and wrinkles. The fillers within a range will have different properties and are designed to be used in different areas of the face filling wrinkles, restoring facial volume and hydrating skin. The filler has been designed to mimic tissue behaviour allowing it integrate seamlessly into skin tissue staying intact for a lasting effect.
The treatment of wrinkles with dermal fillers will usually involve injecting this naturally occurring product HA through a tiny needle. You will experience minor discomfort during the injection of fillers which does not take long. Most fillers include a local anaesthetic – lidocaine, which helps to make the procedure less painful. A cold pacl or a topical anaesthetic can also be applied 20-30 minutes prior to treatment to make it more comfortable.
The aesthetic results can be seen immediately after the procedure. Although for lips it may take 14 days for the full effect to be seen.
Dermal fillers are not permanent and will naturally bio-degrade with time disappearing within the skin. Most dermal fillers will last between 6 to 18 months. The duration depends on many factors such as the type of treatment, the area being treated, the individual skin type and condition, lifestyle and age. Further treatment may be required to maintain your youthful appearance.
As with any injectable treatment you may experience some redness, bruising, swelling or tenderness after the treatment. This can take up to 2 weeks to fully settle. So the procedure is best performed at least 2 weeks before a special occasion.
