The use of chemical peels date back to Ancient Egypt when Cleopatra used sour milk to improve the appearance of her skin. Lactic acid – an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) is the active ingredient in sour milk. A chemical peel is a treatment used to improve the skin texture and tone. An acid is applied to the skin to lower the pH, which loosens the connections between dead skin cells, inducing exfoliation and stimulating new cell growth. This process causes the superficial layers of the dead skin to peel off, revealing a smoother more radiant complexion. Chemical peels can also thicken the epidermis, increase dermal volume and stimulate collagen production.
Peels can be described as superficial, medium or deep according to how far they penetrate the skin. Deeper peels are associated with longer down time and more side effects.

Radiant TXA peel is a multi-acid professional peel that targets the appearance of discolouration, brightens skin and enhances clarity. Powered by traxenamic acid (TXA), 30% lactic acid and white shiitake mushroom, it delivers effective results while remaining suitable for all skin types.
Radiant 30 is an alpha hydroxy acid resurfacing peel containing lactic acid to exfoliate dead skin cells, boost cell turnover and stimulate collagen, improving skin texture and tone. Aloe vera extract calms the skin and soothes redness, while sodium hyaluronate, vitamin B5 and gluconolactone hydrate and soften skin for a supple and radiant complexion.
A good cleansing routine is vital to skin health. Double cleanse, twice a day, when you wake up and before you go to bed. In the morning it will remove the build up of sebum, toxins, oils and dirt that the skin has excreted whilst you were asleep, along with any serums that you have applied the night before that are not recommended for daytime use; for example, Retinol. The night time cleanse is especially important to cleanse away make-up, impurities, dirt, oils and free radicals from pollution during the day that can accelerate sun damage and ageing. Exfoliation is one of the most important aspects of your AlumierMD home skin care routine and is key for a brighter smoother complexion. These dead skin cells can also be responsible for excess oil and clogged pores leading to blemishes and acne. Exfoliation can be performed mechanically by using scrubs on the skin, or chemically by using products that contain special ingredients to remove the dead skin cells without scrubbing. Whilst moisturisers offer hydration and nourishment for the skin, serums are formulated to have a lighter consistency and often have a higher concentration of active ingredients, which are able to penetrate deeper into the skin. You can also layer serums. Start with the lighter consistency and vitamins first. Apply Vitamin C in the morning and vitamin A (retinol) in the evening.

By encapsulating the retinol and adding soothing and hydrating ingredients like niacinamide, honey and sodium hyaluronate, maximal results can be achieved in comfort. Whether you are starting your retinol journey or have been using it for some time, we can advise which of our serums; IntelliRET 0.3%, retinol resurfacing serum 0.25%, 0.5% or 1% is best for you.

However, as AlumierMD contains active and medical grade ingredients, for your wellbeing and safety, you must have a consultation beforehand.
After your consultation you will also be sent an activation email or given a code specific for Finesse Skin clinic which will allow you to purchase your skin care products from AlumierMD online, with delivery to your door, right when you need it.
