Milia are groups of small white bumps, around 1-2mm in diameter that typically appear on the nose and cheeks. They occur when keratin becomes trapped beneath the surface of the skin.
Milia can occur in older children and adults and are generally associated with some type of damage towards the skin or where the skin has lost its natural ability to exfoliate. Some ingredients in skin care and makeup products, especially mineral oils, can cause milia. Make-up wipes should also be avoided as this can lead. Avoid poking and picking at them as this can lead to scarring.
If you’re looking for expert removal of milia, book a consultation to come and discuss your concerns. We will offer expert advice, answer your questions and recommend the right course of treatment for you.
